Case Study: Montgomery Bus Boycott, 1955-56

Rosa Parks, on December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, refused to sit in the black section of a bus. She was arrested and convicted of disorderly conduct. This small act of protest against racial discrimination transformed Parks into an icon of American history. Click here to learn more!
